We all know the infamous Scorpion silk bomber jacket from Drive, the pyjama suit from Cannes Film Festival and the rippling torso girls and guys alike go wild for in Crazy Stupid Love, but what we at Beyond Man really enjoy about Ryan Gosling is his impeccable taste in formal attire. So we figured since good things come in fives (we know it is actually threes but whatever) why not count down Ryan G’s top five most memorable and most desirably dapper suits.
First up we have the Blue tuxedo take by Salvatore Ferragamo. Custom-made, shawl collared, with darker contrasting lapels and two button detail. Worn to the film premiere of Drive in Cannes, the Gosling walks straight out of GQ and onto a red carpet with an effortlessly sharp, tailored and sophisticated look with a fun and metallic tone.
From blue to black next in everyone’s favourite or fashion faux pas, depending on your mood when it comes to the party season…the velvet suit. Donned for the New York red carpet premiere of The Place Beyond The Pines, crafted by Gucci in a stunning gothic ink shade. If anyone can realistically pull off a velvet suit…it’s the Gosling.
Next up we have a traditional take from our boy Ryan who goes all double breasted for the premiere of Blue Valentine rocking yet another Gucci number in this Spring/Summer 2011 metallic charcoal grey slice of the high life. Tailored to perfection, slim fitting and as elegant as they come. Gosling and Gucci equals Gsquared.
Our penultimate suits comes in the form of another traditional styled design in a black check number from…you guessed it…Gucci. This time sporting a Spring/Summer number from 2012 for the red carpet premiere of Crazy Stupid Love. Looking like a luxury bathroom in human form.
Finally, my personal favourite, a rust brown suit from Gucci once again. And it’s a three piece. Nothing says LA quite like a good brown three-piece Gucci suit. Worn for the LA premiere of Gangster Squad, Ryan also was accompanied by his loving and adoring mother. Opting to pair his Gucci with a bit of Lanvin in the shoe studded department. Job done Ryan G.
