Thurs. 25. Apr.

By now we have all seen the hotly anticipated trailers for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming Great Gatsby epic. Haunting tunes from Lana Del Rey and Beyonce Knowles feature prominently throughout the teaser clips, but one of the main elements the world has been dying to explore are the luxurious clothing worn by all involved.

For the women, Carey Mulligan flaunts sheer, silk full length numbers with intricate, opulent and art deco detailing courtesy of Prada. For the men, Leonardo Dicaprio is the man of the moment as his lead character Jay Gatsby dons a variety of Summer vacationing appropriate attire as a slick, sophisticated gent with all the confidence and money in the world to back it up. Pastels, ivory whites and soft chocolate browns are the go to colours with the three-piece suit serving as a simply must. Alluring and attractive party wear from the word go.

A style M&S kindly recommend for the good of your health and your fashion status. Ahead of the UK release of The Great Gatsby movie on May 10th, M&S menswear has seen a huge spike in sales of Gatsby-influenced fashion, with our white tuxedo alone up by a phenomenal 213% week on week.

Characterised by stylish separates in brilliant white and soft pastel shades of lemon sherbet, Gatsby fashion is the perfect seasonal trend for men to channel this Summer, and M&S has got the look covered in abundance.

From lightweight linen suiting, to printed short sleeved shirts, and accessories including sun-shading fedora hats and retro shaped sun glasses, M&S menswear has all you need to pull-off this classic and refined look in Style.

The 1920s has seen a major revival in terms of fashion trends for the coming Spring/Summer season. The film’s Oscar Winning costume designer Catherine Martin has worked with Brooks Brothers to create a sensational 500 items of both day and night for the men of the flick. Tuxedos and that oh so important iconic pink suit are naturally included with Ivy League, Collegiate and nautical approaches and influences taking centre stage.
