Joseph Turvey X River Island

 Written by Lewis Cameron

Fresh from their unstoppable Rihanna collaborations and an exciting launch of their vibrant Katie Eary collection, highstreet giant River Island has teamed up with yet another talented young designer and this time, it’s one for the boys. We present to you, Joseph Turvey X River Island.

Serving as the second menswear designer to be backed by River Island’s Design Forum initiative, the 90s streetwear infused collection was inspired by the cult-break dancing documentary ‘Planet B-Boy featuring imagery of fashion and fine art photographer Jamal Shabazz, showcasing Turvey’s eye for scene-captivating illustrations and his unique experimentation of fabrication.

Playful pink camouflage prints are given a luxe sportswear makeover boasting a colourful collection of crewneck sweaters, intarsia knits, lightweight bombers, printed t-shirts, sweatpants and shorts breaking up the print with masculine khakis and concrete greys. Not to mention the high-fashion statement hats, high-tops, backpacks and hold-alls adding the perfect finishing touches to an explosive urban range filled with energy, artistry and bold contemporary design.

Joseph Turvey X River Island features 15 pieces and is available from selected stores and online now. Check out the accompanying short film which debuted last month at London Collections: Men.Shop the collection @ http://www.riverisland.com/men/design-forum?icid=hp/hero/mdfcat
