Sportswear gained a sci-fi revival for AW14 as James Long turned colourful urban streetwear on its technological axis crafting a menswear collection full of digital, role play gaming influences and inspirations into a textural wonderland of quirky and contemporary hyper tech menswear.
Perforated, quilted fabrics were the immediate standouts in vibrant, electric colours with an abstract artistic feel and flavour alongside simplistic shades of black and minimal whites. Complete with a dapper, futuristic edge emphasised by wet-look, swept-back midnight blue hair.
Panelled sweatshirts, felted trousers, quilted outerwear and an overall styling approach similar to 80s retro race-car gaming attire, James Long debuted a collection of functional, futuristic and funktastic fashion made for the innovative and the explorative. Here’s to the future. A textural future filled with artistic prints and bold, energetic colours.
