Baartmans & Siegel are pretty much the go to duo when it comes to putting on creative and inventive model installations. Moving from the tropical warehouse of SS14 to the contemporary and quirky smoke surrounded attic for AW14, Baartmans & Siegel provided a haunting, cobalt blue lit showcase filled with fur detailed collars, sports luxe layering and youthful, elegant outerwear in abundance.
Add in an intimate, up close and personal catwalk ingredient, ensuring all garments were explored emphasising every single design feature, and modern masculinity could not have asked for a better introduction to Autumn/Winter 14. Finding inspiration from secluded and testing Arctic areas of land, themes of silent strength, confidence and beauty were incorporated throughout the sophisticated collection alongside an exclusive coat collab with Penfield, a Massachusetts based outerwear label.
“The exciting part of the collaboration is combining our trademark handwritings to create a union of excellence. With a focus on tactile fabrications, the three coats are engineered to be suitable for multiple landscapes, and to provide heightened comfort and indulgence. Each piece is designed to highlight our take on refined masculine classic outerwear’, says Baartmans & Siegel Creative Director, Amber Siegel.
Details include hidden seams and zippers, high-impact cuts, jet black fur trims and linings. Based on Penfield’s Hoosac, Kasson and Holgate styles, the three pieces have been developed for ‘Life in the Open,’ ensuring durability, warmth, comfort and style.
Did we mention it was haunting, mysterious, filled with smoke, blue light and fur lined collars?
P.S. Men’s style icons Oliver Proudlocke and Louis Smith were also in attendance.
